How and why do we express our feelings in pictures?
I had a depressed phase recently and decided to just paint to distract myself. I just took out my brushes and colours and started painting, without planning or anything.
After a while I started thinking about how art is considered a means to express oneself. My paintings expressed something, I guess, but did they express a part of me? Can I express a part of me in a piece of art without intending to do so?
Which brings me to my question: what does this painting express, what do you see? It's a simple aquarell picture on which I tried out the dripping technique, meaning that I mixed the colour with a lot of water and let it drip/flow down the sheet. But I want to know what emotions and/or thoughts it triggers in others.

I realised this a while ago. A look or a gesture can say so much more than words. Sometimes it's not even possible to formulate a feeling or a thought with just words; words are limited and a limitation.
And sometimes, pictures can speak, too. Louder and clearer than any voice.
